Description
Angelos Theodoropoulos captures a naked female body in perspective, placing the head in the foreground and the legs in the background. The female figure is rendered with her head turned downwards covered by her two hands: the right (as seen by the viewer) is in front of her, while the left covers her. Her scapula, as well as the rest of her carmus of which the viewer sees the back, has a slope to the right, while the pelvis and lower limbs are set sideways with the lower leg slightly hiding the upper. Perhaps the female nude is depicted in a contracting position. The intensities in the figure’s body come from the changes in its shading.
