Description
In this particular engraved composition we see on the first level the depiction of a tree with its three branches, which is probably an olive tree. During this period, Angelos Theodoropoulos’ turn to render the landscape in a purely realistic manner can be observed, compared to the landscapes of the 1930s for example. In this particular composition we see the detailed rendering of the rich low vegetation of the ground and the presence of various stones or of the foliage and branches of the trees, as well as the solidity in the depiction of its trunks, which decrease in volume as our gaze moves from left to right. Possibly the artist used this trick to achieve perspective. while the artist tries to render the perspective by placing other trees in the background.
