Description
THE work comes from a series of engravings depicting Persian kings. King Darius B’ is depicted with helmet, breastplate and sword in the open air. His body is rendered in profile, while his face is frontal. With one hand he rests on a stick. The man dominates the first level of the show. On the second level, a forest and a river where storks are found are depicted. To the lower right appear hares and a rider on horseback, who blows a horn, chasing a stag.
