Description
It depicts a man in 3/4 turn sitting cross-legged on a chair, with the left leg on top of the right. Physical features (face, palms, ankle) are left in the color of the tarpaulin, which is uniform, solid, white, (pulsing white background). Even the flower he wears on his lapel is left white, as well as where the tie is tied. Physicality is implied only by the suit and the shoes, thus subsuming the sense of the invisible and immaterial. Asceticism in the economy of his painting media, original interpretation of light.
