Description
Angelos Theodoropoulos captures with a simple design and outline a naked female figure, lying on her side. The upper half of her torso is shown resting on a pillow, her right (to the viewer) arm is bent with the elbow resting on the pillow and her palm resting on her raised head. With the left cover her breasts and ends up resting her palm on the pillow. Her legs are bent towards the torso with the left lying sideways in the air and the right resting on the surface where she is lying. Both the absence of shadows and the linear rendering of the form remind us of the corresponding nudes of Matisse.
