Description
Angelos Theodoropoulos captures with a simple design and outline a naked female figure facing forward, seated on a fabric with strong pleats, while appearing to look towards the viewer. The right (as viewed by the viewer) leg is bent at the level of her chest and she holds it with her right hand, while the left leg is rendered in a sideways position equally bent. Her left breast is barely visible, while from the performance of the shoulders, the slight turn to the left of the trunk is visible. Both the absence of shadows and the linear rendering of the form remind us of the corresponding nudes of Matisse.
