The evangelist Luke is depicted facing left. He is sitting on a stool and writing with a pen. His feet are on a footstool, while a lectern is depicted in front of him. At the evangelist’s feet is depicted his symbol, a calf’s head with a halo. On the right, behind his back is his monogram: ΛΚ.
