Description

The evangelist Matthew is depicted in a three-quarter stance to the left. He sits on a stool, steps on a footstool and writes with a pen. Behind him is depicted his symbol, the angel also in a three-quarters pose. The evangelist’s tunic is rendered with rich geometric folds. Both figures have a halo on their heads. On the upper left is the monogram of the evangelist MT.
