Description
In a cubist-inspired composition, Aggelos Theodoropoulos captures the nude full-length portrait of a seated female figure inside a room, leaning slightly to the left (to the viewer), leaning on her right bent arm (to the figure), while turning her head to the right (toward the viewer). With the left hand, which rests on her abdomen, she touches her right limb while the legs are rendered crossed. The piece of furniture on which the figure sits, presumably some kind of couch, is covered with a strongly pleated cloth, while to the right of the scene a table can be seen in the corner, also covered with some cloth. There is no doubt that Angelos Theodoropoulos applies in this engraving the lessons of cubist approaches to art, mainly in the rendering of geometric volumes.
