Description
Saint Demetrius is centrally placed in a niche, rendered by the artist. He wears armor and holds a spear in his right hand and an arrow in his left. The drawing is executed in pencil. A green background is created through watercolor. The Saint’s scarf is colored blue and his sleeve red. Above the niche and in capital letters is written in Byzantine script: “University of Thessaloniki”. Under an eye, it is written: “I AM THE SALVATION OF THEM, I AM SAVED, THE CORRUPTION OF THEM, I PERISH.” The Saint’s head is attached.
