Kaklamanos Dimitrios (1867 – 1949)

Biography

Diplomat, journalist, and author.
He served as director of the newspaper Asty (1892) and later as publisher of the newspaper Neo Asty (1901–1907). He subsequently pursued a distinguished diplomatic career as consul and later ambassador of Greece in Europe and the United States (1907–1916). He served as Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1914–1915) and as Greece’s representative on the Council of the League of Nations. On 24 July 1923, together with Eleftherios Venizelos, he signed the Final Act of the Treaty of Lausanne (Treaty of Lausanne / Final Act).

Among other works, he published: Nikolaos Gyzis (1901), Byron in Greece (1908), Jean Moréas (1908), and Painting (1910).
