Pagonis Alekos (Alexandros) (1960 – 2018)

Biography

The painter and printmaker Alekos (Alexandros) Pagonis was born in 1960 in Erythres (Kriekouki), Attica, where he also passed away in 2018.
He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts during the period 1980–1985. Concurrently, he attended printmaking courses, an art form to which he subsequently dedicated himself.
He presented his work in a solo exhibition (“Ora” Gallery, 1985) and various group exhibitions in Greece (including the exhibition “Post-war Printmaking” at the National Gallery in 1988).
He taught Art in Secondary Education.
He had been a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece since 1985.
