Geralis Apostolos (1886 – 1983)
Biography
He was born in Gerakari, Mytilene, in 1886 and died in Athens in 1983. He was the brother of the painter Loukas Geralis.
He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts under Dimitrios Geraniotis, Spyridon Vikatos, Georgios Roilos, and Georgios Iakovidis. He continued his studies with the Averoff scholarship from 1919 to 1920 at the Académie Julian in Paris.
From 1910 to 1915, he worked as a teacher at the Pancyprian Gymnasium in Nicosia.
He presented his work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He participated in the Panhellenic exhibitions organized by the Association of Greek Artists, of which he was a member, as well as the Venice Biennale in 1934.
