The painter Susan Kerr-Joachim (Susan Kerr-Ιωακείμ) was born in London in 1943.
She studied at the Bath Academy of Art in Corsham, Great Britain, specializing in graphic arts (lettering and lithography) and painting (1961–1965). She continued her studies at the Leicester’s College of Education of the University of Leicester (1965–1966). Concurrently, she took supplementary courses in textile design and silkscreen printing at the Leicester College of Art, earning her Art Teacher’s Diploma in 1966.During the period of 1960–1966, she traveled throughout Europe and Cyprus. From 1966 to 1974, she worked and exhibited alongside her husband, Costas Joachim, at their studio and gallery in Bellapais, Cyprus. Following the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, they lived in London and Athens. They returned to Bellapais, Cyprus, in 1977.
She showcased her work in solo exhibitions primarily in Cyprus, as well as in Athens, Munich, and Berlin. She also participated in group and international exhibitions across Cyprus, Greece, Great Britain, Italy, Austria, and Florence. In 1972, she was honored with an award at the Annual Pancyprian Painting Exhibition in Platres.
From 1987 onward, she taught Fine Arts at the American International School in Cyprus.
Her artworks are held in public and private collections in Cyprus (State Gallery of Cyprus, Archbishopric Gallery, Presidential Palace), Great Britain, Norway, Germany, Canada, and the USA.
