Kosmadopoulos Georgios (1895 – 1967)

Biography

The painter Georgios Kosmadopoulos was born in Volos in 1895 and passed away in Athens in 1967.
He studied in Leipzig and Paris. He was primarily a landscape painter and operated within the framework of Impressionism. It is indeed interesting to note that the impressionistic character of his work emerges not only stylistically but also thematically in a series of genre scenes he created, featuring café interiors, bathers, and other subjects.
He exhibited his works in many Panhellenic Exhibitions and at the Venice Biennale (1934, 1936), while in 1936, he was honored with the Silver Medal at the Paris International Exposition.
