The painter Apostolos Lavdas was born in Piraeus in 1940.
He initially studied painting in Brussels at the École des Beaux-Arts (1962-1965), and subsequently at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1965-1966).
His work primarily captures the human form, though he is also concerned with the landscape. His painting is dominated by faint outlines, an abstract disposition, and intense colors.
He presented his work in solo exhibitions (Astor, Athens 1965, 1976, 1978; Panselinos, Thessaloniki 1982, 1984, 1986; Miraraki, Athens 1992, etc.), as well as in group exhibitions (Panhellenic Exhibitions, Athens 1971, 1973, 1975; Zygos, Athens 1978; House of Cyprus, Athens 1988; Florence International Contemporary Art Biennale-1st prize, etc.).
