Biography

The painter Konstantinos Romanidis was born in Athens in 1884 and passed away in 1972.
He studied at the School of Fine Arts under N. Lytras, K. Volanakis, and G. Roilos.
He was one of the founding members of the Association of Greek Artists (1910).
During the war of 1912-1913, he served as a reservist and crafted approximately 200 drawings inspired by the battles he participated in within Epirus and Macedonia.
He was honored with the bronze medal at the Marseille International Exhibition (1906), as well as prizes from the Royal Academy of London and the Academy of Athens (1927). He was also awarded the Marine Association Medal by the Ministry of Naval Affairs (1965).
He engaged primarily in landscape and seascape painting, following the principles of French Impressionism. He also painted portraits of friends and relatives.
